In the event of a sudden power failure, brakes are designed to prevent machine parts or moving axes from changing their position. Our electromagnetic brakes are supplied with a 24 VDC voltage. As soon as this fails, the stepper motor is braked. The machine part or the movable axis can then no longer change their position. Electromagnetic brakes are used, among other things. in safety-relevant applications, e.g. on Z-axes to hold their position.
