Mechanical parts set HOBBY-Line 10560
With scratch-resistant blue anodized portal cheeks
Selecting the control |
The Hobby-Line offered in the configurator is an offer without control unit, control software and licences.
You can find a selection of supported control units and control software in our webshop. |
The series of our
Hobby-Line was specially developed for beginners and hobby users of CNC technology. Already at the construction great value was placed on a
simple assembly of the kit
without special tools. So even beginners should have the opportunity to come with comparatively little previous knowledge at reasonable cost to a reliable and accurate machine in the usual stable
Sorotec quality. The configurator should also support this, in order to find a meaningful compilation of all necessary components from the beginning, and to avoid expensive wrong decisions.
The mechanic is available in
four different sizes, so every needings should meet something suitable. By use of the specially designed (and manufactured exclusively for Sorotec)
solid aluminum extruded profile, a very high rigidity of the CNC-controlled machine is achieved. The
hardened steel shafts in the aluminum profile and the
recirculating ball screws on all axles allow a virtually wear-free and gentle operation. The generously dimensioned stepper motors can easily cope with any task that arises. The integrated
43 mm holder allows you to choose from the wide range of milling motors with
43 mm clamping neck. In addition,
HF spindles can also be bolted directly to the
grooved Z-axis profile. The
drag chains and
reference switches are included also.
The scratch-resistant blue anodized portal cheeks and the front plates are provided with form-fitting cutouts that enable precise alignment during assembly. All
CNC machined parts are made from milled, machined aluminum (5083) with high accuracy of fit.
The
ball-bearing guides in conjunction with the inserted steel shafts in the profiles enable a wear-free and smooth running of the
portal milling machine. By the
eccentric screws a simple adjustment of the mechanical preload is possible.
Optionally,
workpiece supports such as e.g.
T-slot plates,
vacuum tables or
MDF plates with thread grid are available.
A
stepper motor set with sufficient dimensioning is listed in the configurator.
A
tool length sensor greatly simplifies the setup of the workpiece.

Basic scope of delivery:
The mechanism is delivered in individual parts for self-assembly. The pictures show the fully assembled state.
After completion, the parts set presented here represents what is known as an "incomplete machine" in the EC Machinery Directive. This must be supplemented by adding further components to form a finished machine. The housing and the functional safety module (operator protection) offered by Sorotec can be used for this. Information sheet. |
- drag chains and reference switches
- massive 43 mm holder for holding the milling motor
- grooved Z-axis profile for individual recording of HF spindles
- Recirculating ball screws for high travel speeds and smooth running
- CNC-machined cast and machined aluminum parts for distortion-free components with high accuracy of fit
- Portal cheeks and face plates with positive milled slots for quick and precise alignment during assembly
- Ball bearing guides with steel shafts for quiet and wear-free operation
- NEMA23 Holder for drive motors for reliable operation and high travel speeds
The shown stepper motors, the installed T-slot plate and the milling spindle in the photos are available as options and are only included in the delivery if they have been selected in the configurator.
The approved performance characteristics of these machines depend on safety conditions.
Without a protective housing, there is a limit to the permissible 2 m/min (33 mm/s) traversing speed and a maximum cutter diameter of 3.175 mm.
With a protective housing, the maximum cutter diameter is limited to 8 mm, the traversing speed is not restricted.
In any case, the milling cutters used must be approved for the maximum speed of the milling spindle (usually 25,000 rpm). |
