Hot plug interface for Tool lenght sensor and 3D-probe
Different sensors are required for milling work, e.g. a tool length sensor for tool length measurement, a 3D probe for workpiece measurement, etc. However, the different sensors are never used at the same time. If you firmly connect all of these sensors (connected in series) to the controller, you will have many loose cables that are comparatively seldom used and are very annoying during the milling work.
In order to avoid annoying long and loose cables, we have developed a sensor connection box especially for this purpose: the sensor hot-plug interface. You can connect the sensor you just need to the sensor hot-plug interface and simply remove it again after the measurement has been completed.
The sensor hot-plug interface can, for example, be mounted on the Z-axis of your machine. The sensor connection is available to you directly on the spot, i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the milling spindle. The sensor cables can be kept short because they no longer have to be laid across the entire machine to the controller / control cabinet.
It also often happens that different sensor types (NPN, PNP) have to be used. A series connection is only possible with sensors of the same type. You can connect all sensor types to the sensor hot-plug interface, regardless of whether they are NPN, PNP, mechanical switches, NC or NO contacts.
All you have to do is ensure that all of your sensors have the same switching function - either all of them as normally closed contacts or all of them as normally open contacts - so that you do not have to constantly invert the function of the controller input.
