Tool Length Sensor Sorotec WLS 1 (8 mm)
8 or 14 mm:
Which WLS do I need? |
With a small machine table, every square inch of clamping surface often counts. In most cases, smaller milling cutters up to max. Ø 6 mm are used here. Then the small tool length sensor is recommended.
However, larger milling cutters also require a larger sensor probe. Since the cutting edges to be measured are on the outside of the radius, they would sink past a button that is too small. Here it must be the 14 mm variant. |
With SUB-D plug readily connected
This tool length sensor does not work with a simple switch like most of the offers in the low price segment. Instead it has a precise micro switch inside, which is operated from above with a tappet. Thereby a high repetition accuracy is ensured.
The micro switch inside is mounted on a spring. If the Z-Axis does not stop in time or your ramps are too long, the switch does not get damaged. It can be pressed 4 mm into the spring. It is equipped with a 3 core cable plus a nine pole SUB-D plug and connected as normally closed. Completely detachable over a central screw.
